The Principals of Chrysiliou IP Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys and Chrysiliou Lawyers are highly experienced Australian intellectual property attorneys and the founders of the practice have each been in the profession for over 30 years.The senior attorney staff and consultants of the Firm possess the necessary qualifications and expertise to establish themselves as highly respected advisers in their respective areas of activity. Professional support staff are also qualified to assist in the providing of first class service to Clients. Chrysiliou IP is about a team effort aimed at fulfilling the Firm’s mission at all times.

The Firm’s Attorneys have presented papers at conferences in Europe, USA and Australia in the patent, trade mark, character merchandising and licensing fields. They have taken part in assisting international organisations and governments in matters pertaining to intellectual property. They have provided assistance in the preparation of reports of international significance and authored articles which have appeared in intellectual property and licensing publications with international distribution.

Kerry ChrysiliouLawyer | Patent Attorney | Trade Marks Attorney
Kerry is a co-founder and managing principal of Chrysiliou IP. She is a Solicitor and a Patent and Trade Marks Attorney in Australia and New Zealand. A Bachelor of Science graduate (majoring in Chemistry and Biochemistry), she has specialised in mechanical and chemical patents and trade marks since 1969. Author of intellectual property presentations and articles in Australia and overseas, she is also a consultant in Chrysiliou Lawyers where she has acted in patent and trade mark litigation matters before the Federal Court and Supreme Court.
Andy ChrysiliouLawyer | Trade Marks Attorney
Andy is a co-founder of Chrysiliou IP. He is a Bachelor of Laws graduate and a Trade Marks Attorney. Admitted as a Solicitor in Australia and Papua New Guinea, Andros is a consulting senior attorney to Chrysiliou IP and is the managing principal of Chrysiliou Lawyers, Solicitors, where he has acted in litigation matters pertaining to intellectual property, consumer protection and analogous areas. He has authored presentations and articles in trade mark related areas, especially character merchandising, in Australia and overseas.
Allen ChanPatent Attorney | Trade Marks Attorney
Allen graduated with a honours degree in Material Science and Engineering from Imperial College, The University of London in England. On completion of his master’s degree in chemical and materials engineering at The University of Auckland, Allen began his IP career in 2000 with one of the major IP firms in New Zealand. He relocated to Sydney in 2003 to join a top-tier law firm.

Allen commenced at Chrysiliou IP in 2007 and is a registered patent and trade marks attorney and Principal in the firm’s patent team. Allen’s expertise is in materials science and engineering, with his practice including mechanical and chemical engineering, gaming technology, medical and dental devices, security and emergency equipment, manufacturing and packaging.

Allen advises local and international clients on patent procurement, validity, infringements, design protection, trade mark protection, oppositions and portfolio management.

Lincoln ChrysiliouLawyer | Trade Marks Attorney
Lincoln is admitted as a solicitor in Australia and is a qualified Trade Marks Attorney. Lincoln’s specialities are in the piracy control, trade mark prosecution and litigation support fields. Before he joined the Firm he was involved in major piracy programs, such as at World sporting event venues and for the detection of major brand counterfeit goods.

Interests: Surfing; driving around in his old mini; family time (including the dog); and photography.

Maryam Khajeh TabariPatent Attorney | Trade Marks Attorney
Maryam is a registered Australian and New Zealand Patent and Trademarks Attorney, with a Masters of Industrial Property, a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering (Hons) and a Masters of Biomedical Engineering.
Together with her engineering degrees, Maryam completed a Diploma of Innovation Management, which launched her interest in technology commercialisation and the role in which patents play in getting technologies to market.

Maryam works primarily in our patents team and has experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications in Australia and overseas. Prior to joining Chrysiliou IP, she trained and qualified as Patent Attorney at a large Australian firm, and has a number of years of experience working in the university commercialisation sector, managing IP portfolios and assisting in the negotiation of IP-led research engagement contracts and licences.

Maryam has also completed her Juris Doctor, and is currently the lead lecturer in the patent practice subjects at the University of Technology Sydney, helping to train the next generation of Patent Attorneys. She is passionate about law and technology, and was the youngest President of Engineers Australia, Sydney Division in 2011.

Reynier Van Der WesthuizenLawyer | Trade Marks Attorney
Reynier is a senior practitioner in the Intellectual Property and commercial law fields, especially in the area of trade mark disputes and litigation. He had his own practice in South Africa prior to joining our firm.

Reynier is qualified as a solicitor in Australia and South Africa. He also has qualified in Australia and achieved registration as a Trade Marks Attorney. He also holds an MBA from Bond University.

Reynier has a wealth of experience in all aspects of trade mark and copyright matters.
